The series lives in the ambiguity of partner dance. Tango needs close contact, and an instructor corrects a student by placing hands on posture and position, so for a while everything on screen can still be described as a lesson. The official blurb hints that this cover will not last forever.

The wife’s absence is the other half of the setup. She chose the class and paid for the slot, and the appointment carries on without her. She is not in the room, yet nothing would be happening without her. That gives the husband an easy explanation for going and gives the story a reason to return to the same studio each episode.
